WHY IS IT NOT DRAGON*CON YET?

life sucks ass. if any of you have a time turner and you don't make it dragon*con by friday afternoon, i hereby revoke our friendship.

hello, wise flist!

i am still trying to sell off my supergirl suit...my best offer so far was $100, and then that person had to bail out so it is still waiting for a new home.

BUT! an orthotist i work with has offered to trade me...my version 1 turner suit for his gently used industrial singer 20u33. i think that sounds kind of kick-ass, but i know NOTHING about this machine. i would like an industrial machine that can handle garment weight leather, which this one can. but what else would i use it for? does anyone know anything about this model? people i talk to always recommend a juki, but i don't have the cash for that right now (nor will i anytime soon) even though it would handle more materials. what are your thoughts? should i jump on this?

(yes, obviously going to read lots of internet reviews and such, but i prefer the word of someone i actually KNOW whenever possible!)

it's that time of year... time to buy pumpkins, plan parties and post all your old costumes on ebay for other people to buy so that you can afford christmas presents! yay!

everyone should go check out THE METROPOLIS COMIC SHOW. it's currently being run by marc ballard, the same dude who puts on horrorfest in nashville, and is always a good time. plus it's only $6 admission for the whole weekend!

i fixed jean grey's movie suit. i can sit down in it now. rock on.

aurora's corset looks like it will be an almost perfect fit. it's not totally done yet, but i am keeping my fingers crossed. if i've reinforced it enough, then it gets me down to a 24" waist. if i haven't reinforced it enough, it breaks. we'll know soon enough.

phoenix hit a supply snafu. (that's what happens when you depend on ebay-ers from hong kong too much.) she won't be done by d*con. i am thinking of filling her spot with another costume instead. still researching. if it works, it will be my very first "bad guy." :o)

and unrelated to costumes, OMG TWILIGHT. i have never heard of these bloody books before, but the videos out of comic con scare me. these people won't be at d*con, right? i might have to hurt them.

tomorrow will be a very interesting day. how interesting really depends on how brave i feel and how much peer pressure danielle lays on me. hmmm.

in my never-ending quest to pay for dragon*con (and my PT licensing fees...i'm at about $700 now just for my applications!), i present my current eBay listings. bid, buy, share with your friends, share with your enemies, share with those strangers that call themselves your myspace friends. i've got some cell phones, action figures, car stuff, hair care products...it's a pretty eclectic mix.
